Concerning Winners Winning Flights and Runs at Canaulia Weyr will almost always be determined by random chance, this way no one can feel left out. At the end of each Flight post, the owner of the female must assign a number to a dragon/flitter/wher participating in Chasing. These should be obvious for people to see. Next, click the small icon with a six-side die on it. After selecting this, a UBBC code will show up which will prompt the maker of the post for a number of sides. The number that the side should equal should be how many participants there are in the Flight at the time. Whoever’s number is selected must drop out in the next post, and so on.
If a player absolutely must for plot reasons want another person’s dragon to win, then they may open a PRIVATE Flight. This means that participants must be fully aware that they won’t win before they enter the Flight, and are merely there to enhance the thread.
Concerning Dragons Dragons mature at about a year and a half, give or take a little bit. Any mature dragon can participate in any flight, unless otherwise specified. We’ll be using liquid time and maturing Weyrling dragons gradually, so please bear with us. News updates will regularly discuss the ages of dragons. Green dragons can rise at any time, at the rider's discretion, and three or four times a turn if they do not clutch. If they do clutch, they must wait another turn before rising again. Any special colored dragons may also be given permission to do this. Golds or gold-ranked dragons, however, must set a date. If you want them to rise at a particular time for a particular reason, pm the admins and this can be discussed.
Queen clutches can range from ten eggs for a relatively infertile queen to fifty or sixty for an exceptionally fertile one. However, an egg count in the mid thirties is considered a large clutch. Number of candidates and the parents are taken into consideration when sizing the clutch. Special mutated females have a large range in clutch size, depending one what type they are. It can be as few as one, or as many as a normal queen.
Because your dragon is the parent of a clutch does not mean you get to decide their colors/who they impress/what their names are. This is up to the admins, as Pernese people do not know what the dragons will be like until they hatch, neither will our characters. Please do not imply what you want the color of your dragon to be, and do not make a Gary-Stu or Mary Sue who absolutely knows they’ll get a bronze or a gold.
Secondly, sexuality will not be taken into consideration when admins are deciding a dragon’s color for the player.
Concerning Firelizards Firelizards are mature in two seasons (Two real life months). Any mature firelizard can participate in a flight unless otherwise specified. Who wins the flight is up to the player of the flit considering it is not exceptionally riveting to play flitter Flights anyways (at least by Sheba’s opinions).
As the flight progresses, PM people gradually so their flit can drop out as they see fit, until only the winner remains. Green flitters may rise at any time, at the discretion of the player. They can rise and clutch once a turn, though their clutches are small and must be watched because they will not defend the eggs themselves. Queen flits or special female flits must be given admin permission to rise.
Clutches can range in size from two to in the twenties, depending on what firelizard rose, what flew them, and how many there are in the Weyr at the time.
Again, clutch size, who they choose and the colors they hatch into are up to the admins. However, once a firelizard chooses you, its name is up to you!
Concerning Whers Whers mature at one turn, give or take a little. All mature whers can participate in Runs unless otherwise specified. Use the same formula for determining Runs as you would Flights, listed above.
Green whers can Run once at turn at the time of the players choosing. They will clutch, though their clutches will be smaller than those of a Queen wher. Green whers, however, will protect their eggs, but not as viciously as gold. Gold and special whers much be given admin permission to Run. Wher clutches are smaller than those of dragons and flitters, maxing in the upper teens with a much higher chance of the eggs being dead. Green wher clutch have an even lower survival rate, what with their clutches being smaller.
The colors that hatch and those who are allowed eggs are up to the admins. The mother wher should reject or approve of the candidates accordingly. However, the player who received the hatchling is free to choose their name. Wher names are derived from their handler’s names, ending in 'sk'. The more of the handlers name in the wher's, the closer the bond. For example, Talaiel receives a bronze wher. The wher may be named by the player Talaiesk which would mean there was a stronger bond than if the wher was named Task.
Because wher hatchings involve eggs being given eggs by the mother, sometimes at random, whers may be bonded cross gender more often. All wher handlers to be must let their wher taste their blood, to cement the bond.
